The KRTS Power to Recover blended trauma support programme is designed to help people recover from the psychological and emotional impact of the traumatic event they have experienced. Critical incidents come in different shapes and sizes and can cause a range of distressing and disabling reactions.
Supported by a personal trauma coach and equivalent to over 12 hours of specialised and trauma-focused support, the full online programme takes people from being overwhelmed and helpless to being empowered and active in their own recovery
KRTS Power to Recover® is a digitally enabled therapy programme designed to help people recover from the psychological and emotional impact of traumatic events. A personal trauma coach provides telephone support, motivation, containment and ensures engagement whilst the client independently completes online modules at their own pace. It implements NICE guidelines of computerised cognitive behavioural therapy for adults with a diagnosis of PTSD or clinically important symptoms of trauma.
The online modules are comprised of audio recordings and simple, tried and trusted, recovery strategies. It is delivered in structured steps, which can be completed at the client’s own pace although generally the modules are usually completed in 4-6 weeks.

Between them, Dr Liz Royle and Chartered Counselling Psychologist Cath Kerr have spent decades working at the coalface of crisis and trauma dealing with every kind of scenario imaginable. Yet time and again, they would see the same limitations in the usual treatment.
They were frustrated by seeing people who couldn’t ask for help or who were told – it’s counselling or nothing. They knew that there were people like Kelly for whom fear, shame and stigma prevented them asking for support even to the extent that suicide was seen as an only option.
As Liz says, “We were sick of seeing people sitting on a waiting list months or years for any kind of mental health support or hearing clients ask, “why has nobody told me this before?” when given basic trauma education despite being “in therapy” for many years.”
In their experience, basic training for clinicians failed to provide them with the skills they needed to work with crisis and trauma – leaving them and their clients vulnerable and disempowered.
Alongside these failings, the pressures of modern life mean that most people are time poor and juggling many demands. The traditional rigid commitment to a weekly one to one therapy session and between session processing / reflection is either not an option or a time luxury that few can afford.
Cath describes how they “wanted to address the barriers to care and stigma and fill a gap by providing an intervention that is more accessible. Traditional talking therapy is great for some people but many others need something different.”
Independent research has been conducted by two separate NHS Trusts in conjunction with university researchers and a major EAP. Results have shown that the programme
Successfully decreases trauma symptoms – in an EAP study 84% of users experienced over 75% reduction in symptoms while an NHS study demonstrated a 74% recovery rate with patients
Reduces waiting lists
Reduces time in treatment
Reduces missed appointment and early drop-out
Improves uptake and engagement with trauma-focused therapies when used as a precursor intervention
KRTS Power to Recover® is an innovative quality controlled and cost-effective trauma support programme that can be delivered globally by your in-house team of experienced mental health professionals.
“I didn't realise how much my anxiety, depression, and overall outlook on life changed after what happened. The course really helped me understand the trauma and feelings that arrived years after and how to deal with them in the present. This was the final hurdle in my healing journey and I encourage anyone who is thinking about it to take part and take back their power.”
“This programme was very helpful to me in understanding my PTSD and learning to manage trauma responses. The modules are well designed, and my coach was very supportive. Taking this course has changed my life for the better, and I would highly recommend it.”
“I have been trying to find help to deal with my mental health for seven years. I had tried lots of different things, but nothing seemed to work. When I started this course, I was in a very dark place. I decided I would forget all the other help and give this 100% as I had become very doubtful that anything would work for me and had a very negative attitude. This course helped me understand what and why I was feeling the way I was. My coach was brilliant, understanding and had helpful advice and coping skills. It’s helped me overcome things and given me skills to face the world again”.
“Personally the program saved me because I actually thought I was going mad … but I wasn’t. I am normal, my feelings and response were normal, I just needed help to get me back on track. Power to Recover 100% did this and I’m truly grateful and would highly recommend the program”
