KRTS International/A 3-step process for supporting staff

Acute stress at work can be caused by many complex and diverse factors. It may be a sudden and shocking event or intense pressure over a prolonged period that leads to crisis or burnout.

This OnDemand course was designed by experts in crisis mental health to help managers and team leaders support the emotional wellbeing of their teams in a safe, structured way. It can be all too easy to put mental health at the bottom of the list and just focus on the job. However, with mental health problems becoming ever more prevalent this is the time when it needs to be prioritised more than ever before.

The CPD Certified course is made up of 10 sections comprising narrated slide shows containing educational content and some reflective activities. They should be completed consecutively.

Doing the right thing to the right people at the right time

This training will explore some of the factors that can negatively impact on the mental health of your team or individuals within it. We’ll look at how we respond to intensely demanding or distressing situations and the signs of emotional distress. The training will provide a brief model for a team leader’s support intervention, with a clear rationale for why this is important, and advice on helpful ways you can support staff.

Working safely

Many team leaders are uncertain how to check the emotional wellbeing of their teams. There can be a fear of opening a can of worms that means we may not do anything.

It’s not unusual to worry about doing the wrong thing and making people feel worse, so we’ll also explain some of the common pitfalls to avoid.

This course attracts 2 hours of Continuous Professional Development credits
